Finding Plus Size Bathing Suits That Flatter You

If you're a larger sized woman, then you certainly understand the challenge of finding great looking swimwear that actually looks good.
Shopping through the discount racks is not how you want to spend your Saturday afternoon, but if you have shopped for plus size bathing suits in the past, you have probably done it anyway. The problem seems to stem from the small available selection, and when you actually find a collection of plus size swimming suits, it's difficult to find one that flatters you.
While women that fit into "mainstream sizes" might feel comfortable wearing just about any suit, full figured ladies usually want something more - a suit that is actually flattering. However, even in the worst situations when you have a small selection to choose from, there are a few things you can do to make sure that you get a suit that flatters your figure.
First, forget the rules when you shop for plus size swimming suits. I know that this sounds counter-intuitive, but take my advice and ignore all of those fashion rules like 'Bigger girls shouldn't wear large floral patterns' or 'Cover up your tummy'. Instead, try on as many different suits as you can, and go with what works for you the best. Remember that the biggest factor in finding a flattering suit is the fit. Until a suit fits you well, don't worry if it breaks some of those fashion rules.
Next, you will want to think about support. There are many materials that can give you some of that all-important extra support. Try to find a suit that is made of Lycra, or one that uses wide straps that connect behind your neck. These kinds of straps will offer you some extra support on top to keep everything neatly tucked in, even if you get rowdy in the water.
Finally, consider never shopping for plus size bathing suits alone. Here is one rule that you can always follow -- any time that you are shopping for clothes, take a friend. When you go into the dressing room, it's hard to see yourself from all angles, and you may not be as objective as you should be. While it's important to get multiple perspectives when you're shopping for regular clothes, it is even more important when shopping for plus size swimming suits.
Remember, forget the steadfast rules, find material that will provide good support, and take along a friend for a second opinion, and you should have some success. As long as you keep these tips in mind, you should not have too much trouble finding plus size bathing suits that flatter your figure.
