Common Plus Size Casual Wear Concerns

There is about 1 every 11 adults in the world that belong to the category obese and 1 every 9 adults who are considered overweight. Yet, the demand for plus size casual wear continue to increase fairly in all parts of the globe.
This article talks about the three main concerns plus size people always have when shopping for the suitable plus size casual wear which most clothing companies tend to overlook.
Availability
The first one, which is also the greatest aspect, is availability. Most department stores offer a wide variety of clothes in big sizes but most of them are limited up to sizes such as triple extra large; which is why most obese people that do not fit to these standard sizes resort to consulting tailoring shops to make sure that they can fit the item.
The disadvantage of this is that tailor made clothes are usually higher in retail prices compared to ready to wear apparel. Although the internet has opened doors for several websites that cater to large size clothing demands, most of these take a day or more for delivery or worse, measurement mishaps. The good thing about online clothing stores however is that they usually have discounted prices compared to those found at department stores because of the absence of store rental.
Comfort and Quality
The second concern among overweight shoppers with plus size casual clothing is comfort. To defer economic costs and be able to maintain a standard price rate with ready to wear merchandise, most materials used are of semi-medium to medium quality. This pertains to those materials that are too thin or too rough. Some are easy to tear and others have stitching problems. Others are stretchable fabrics that only last for about 3-4 times of usage and will then look like a rubber band that has lost its elasticity.
This brings about great problems to most consumers because this trend requires regular shopping every now and then, to replace those items that have eventually lost their quality due to repetitive use. This is another costly dilemma for more than 31.4% of the total residents of the world.
Design and Style
The last concern is design. People, whatever built they have always think about how they look in front of other people. The fact is most big size apparel are made with the basic cuts and designs to avoid lengthy production time. Also, complicated designs require larger amounts of materials which would result to higher expenses to the manufacturer and much larger retail price. To manufacturers and public department stores, high retail prices suggest low customer needs.
This final concern projects the same trend of customer problem as the first two. High cost. Another disadvantage of this is that unlike average built people, obese individuals have a little variety of clothing to choose from and can result to possible dissatisfaction with overall appearance. Also there is a great possibility of seeing another obese person walking down the street wearing the same blouse as you are wearing.
So how can one find quality and stylish plus size casual wear?
As a plus size woman myself I know how hard it can be to find the right clothes, for the right occasion that fit well and are comfortable. Although it is harder to find plus size casual wear, it is definitely not impossible, especially when looking online.
